Who is Ashley's Angels?

Howard and Kara Fraiman's daughter, Ashley Faye, was born with an incurable neurological disease and as a result we became intensely focused on the struggle to provide quality of life for Ashley as well as other chronically ill children and their families. Ashley passed away in November 2000 and shortly thereafter our philanthropy, Ashley’s Angels was born.

In furtherance of our guiding passion (that each person has the right to live and die pain free, and in a dignified manner), and because we know how much support families need for this to happen, we raise money in support of the Palliative Care Unit at CHOP. Palliative Care represents a team approach to medical care, pain management and the emotional and spiritual needs of chronically ill children and their loved ones.

Notice Regarding AshleysAngels.org

This site is no longer affiliated with Steve, Kim and Ashley Resnick. We have donated the domain name to a local charity sharing the same name as ours, Ashley’s Angels, Inc. of Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising charitable funds for special needs children.

Our angel, Ashley Jordyn Resnick, flew to heaven on Saturday, January 31, 2004. She was four years old and the light of our lives. It was with great thought that our family decided to dissolve Ashley’s Angels and focus our efforts on other leukodystrophy charities that were more established and could reach a broader spectrum of sponsors and researchers. We gratefully acknowledge all of your amazing efforts in helping run our charity events and helping raise much-needed funds for leukodystrophy research. Ashley’s Angels donated their funds to both The Myelin Project (www.myelin.org) and The United Leukodystrophy Foundation (www.ulf.org). We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our family and friends for their love, strength and support through our most difficult time. We know that Ashley will be in our hearts forever. As an angel in heaven, she is watching all of you and sprinkling her magic on each of you every day to make your lives brighter and happier. While we struggle to make sense of her illness and her precious but short life, we will continue to focus on the meaning of her life and what she represented to those that loved her: hope, honesty, passion, strength, and love in the purest form.

Please continue to support these very fine charities listed above who raise funds to help children like Ashley live longer, happier and more peaceful lives. When sending donations to these charities, please make sure to make them in Ashley Resnick’s memory so that we may be notified of your contribution. We thank you for your continued support. Please keep in touch to find out more information on how you can help us support other charities in an effort to cure leukodystrophy. Please feel free to call us at (302) 834-1892. God bless all of you for helping us fight to save Ashley’s life. She will be waiting at heaven’s gate for all of you.
