The Moyer Foundation was founded by All-Star MLB pitcher Jamie Moyer and his wife, Karen Moyer. The mission of The Moyer Foundation is to help children in distress. Through the support of a giving community, the Foundation has supported over 140 organizations that directly serve the needs of children in severe distress — children with life threatening illnesses or physical limitations, children who are coping with the loss of a loved one, children who are victims of abuse or neglect.
Camp Erin™ is a grief camp created and funded by The Moyer Foundation — designed for children ages 6-17 who have experienced the death of a parent, friend or loved one.
It is a weekend-long experience filled with traditional, fun, camp activities combined with grief education and emotional support — facilitated by grief professionals and trained volunteers. The Moyer Foundation partners with local hospice and grief counseling organizations in the communities where the camps exist.
With 18 camps in 12 states, Camp Erin is the largest network of bereavement camps in the country. The Moyer Foundation’s goal is to establish 50 camps nationwide over the next
five years.
Camp Erin Philadelphia is located in Jamison, Pennsylvania. |
